Camping...in the backyard!

Brian's turn to plan date night. Went camping outside in our backyard. The kids were so so excited when we told them after dinner.
We slept in style...on an air mattress. A first for me. Slept better than I've ever slept on a campout, that's for sure.

Can you tell the kids were excited?

Practicing with the stakes.

Getting all ready for bed. Night splints on. Knee immobilizers on.

And hooked up to his feeding machine.

Set a baby monitor outside with the boys. We came inside and watched a movie for a little while. Jacob did come inside like 10 times, always with something "important" to tell us. Actually 2 of the times it was something VERY important. Once Tyler dumped the entire water bottle out all over his bed. Another time, Jacob accidentally snagged Tyler's feeding tubing and pulled Tyler's feeding tube completely out of his tummy. So we had to grab the spare and re-insert it.

In the middle of the night, Brian got a page (he was on call). Took me about 2 hours to go back to bed. (Brian stayed inside after that so he wouldn't wake the rest of us up in case he got paged again).

Up at 6:30. A long, not so restful night, but memorable. Definitely will do it again. Just might wait a little while!
