Happy 5th bday Jacob!

Jacob's bday prep, the night before:
The day of Jacob's bday:

Jacob turned 5 years old today! He was SO GENEROUS with all of his bday treats (bubble tape, lollipops, fun dips), and toys (sidewalk chalk with chalkboard easel). That was probably the best part of his birthday for me was seeing how willing he was to give and share all of the things that he loved with his brothers and his parents. He also got new undies, Old Testament/New Testament/D & C readers (with pictures and captions underneath), a D& C DVD with Legacy, Joseph Smith movie, Mountain of the Lord, and 2 other church movies on it, and a new gospel art spiral-bound book. We had german pancakes for breakfast.

The kids played so nicely together this morning. When it wasn’t too early WA time, Jacob called Grandpa Freeman to check and see how his foot was doing. That’s who he wanted to call as the person he could help (like Pres. Monson) on his bday. He told me before he called, “if Grandpa is not doing very well, I’m going to send him my favorite toy.” If he’s doing ok, I’m going to send him a picture and this lollipop (this is what ended up in the envelope to mail out tomorrow). Grandpa told him he was going to come and see Jacob when I had this baby. And Jacob told him, “don’t forget to bring your rover!” Grandpa thought that was pretty cute.

After lunch (enchiladas, Jacob’s choice of bday meal, prepared a couple of days ago so we didn’t have to worry about food during conference; yesterday we had lasagna that was prepared the day before), we had lemon bars (Jacob’s request as well, although neither he nor I liked them as well as we thought we were going to).
