They are just finishing up Tyler's surgery. And great news--once the surgeon opened up the back of his neck and cut back the semicircle of skull (at the base of it) and removed the pointy (spinous process) off the top vertebrae (C1), he used ultrasound to watch the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (brain fluid) around it, and the flow was much improved enough that he didn't even have to have the more invasive part of that surgery!! So they didn't even have to open up his brain or sew the patch there or shrink his cerebellar tonsils or remove his shunt! Which means there will not need to be a follow up surgery on Friday!! That is the best news we could have hoped to hear! We are expecting him to be in the hospital for about 5 days instead of 7, assuming there are no complications. He will continue to be sedated until after his MRI tomorrow morning. Then they will let him wake up.
Miracles continue to flow, thanks to all of your prayers and fasting! How thankful we are for all of your faith! We have felt it!
