cooking...Bishop'Akron zoo...Amish Country...casting...whew!

And as you've probably already noticed, this is Jacob's favorite summertime outfit. He wants to wear it all day every day (except for at night when he strips down to shorts).

The finished product. Turned out yummy! Mild, not too salty, but still addicting.

Jacob helped me make pancakes after we finished up our chex mix, while Tyler was asleep.

I made one of the pancakes in the shape of a bear's head. Jacob thought it needed a body. I got a little carried away...we ended up with a big bear (Daddy), middle sized bear (Mommy), baby bear (Tyler), and two others (so that we had one for Jacob and the new baby). Forgot about Goldilocks.

Me with my boys at the zoo. When Brian got done with clinic for the day, we headed to the Akron zoo.

They had a touching pool. The staff helped the kids feel the starfish, snail, crab, and a couple of other sea cratures.

I was very impressed at how well kept-up this zoo was. The architecture and design of the zoo and exhibits was great! A smaller-sized zoo, but beautiful. And can't beat free (other than $2 for parking). My favorites were the penguins and jellyfish (they had tons of different kinds of jellyfish).

On to Amish country:

Checked out the Town & Country store.

Had a fun time checking out all the goods on their shelves.

Angie gave us the rundown of things we needed to go and see when we visited the 2 amish countries around here (one up north past Kirtland, the other one south, in Kidron.). Really enjoyed Lehman's. They have all sorts of old-fashioned kitchen items. Checked out hand-cranked wheat grinders.

When we got home and we put kids to bed, Brian casted my feet. I was so impressed with how quickly he did it...like a pro...Apparantly he's had a lot of practice with this at clinic. Fun to see him in action on what he's been learning.
